Mamucium Roman Fort Reconstruction

The Mamucium Roman Fort reconstruction features a tall, sturdy timber gateway and a reconstructed section of stone wall that stand in stark contrast to the modern brick warehouses nearby. Built in the late nineteen eighties, the structure demonstrates how the original fort appeared around two hundred AD, when it served as a vital supply base for Roman soldiers patrolling the northern frontier. Excavations here revealed that soldiers lived, trained, and repaired their equipment on this very ground for nearly three centuries before the site fell.
