Duke of York

food drink

The Duke of York sits tucked away in Commercial Court, a narrow cobblestone alleyway identifiable by the thousands of framed mirrors and old whiskey signs lining its exterior walls. This pub occupies the site of a nineteenth-century coaching inn that served merchants and sailors near the Belfast docks. When a massive bomb blast destroyed the original building in nineteen seventy-two, the owners rebuilt it to preserve a piece of the city's trade history. It remains a fixture of the Cathedral Quarter today.
