Writer's Square

Writer’s Square features a large, paved open space centered on a stone sculpture called the Writer’s Fountain. It sits directly across from the side entrance of Saint Anne’s Cathedral. The square honors local literary figures by carving their quotes into the stone seating and surrounding pathways. When the Cathedral Quarter was redeveloped, planners included this space to provide a dedicated outdoor venue for festivals and public readings. Sometimes, the fountain runs dry, revealing the names of writers etched into the basin floor.
