The Bank Buildings are defined by the sharp, six-story prow of green copper and sandstone that anchors the corner of the intersection. Built in seventeen eighty-seven as a private residence, the structure served for over a century as the flagship home for Primark. In August twenty eighteen, a fire gutted the interior, leaving only the scorched exterior walls standing. Work crews spent years stabilizing the masonry and replicating the original Victorian facade to house the store once again.
