Gloria Molina Grand Park stretches twelve acres from the Music Center down to City Hall, identifiable by its bright pink metal chairs scattered across the lawns and shaded walkways. It sits on land that once held private residences and later parking lots, built to bridge the gap between downtown office towers and the government district. During construction, workers unearthed the foundation of a nineteenth century hotel, a reminder of the residential neighborhood that vanished when the city prioritized massive civic infrastructure projects.
