The Los Angeles Theatre features a brilliant gold-leaf ceiling and a massive crystal chandelier that mimics the Hall of Mirrors at Versailles. Charlie Chaplin helped finance its construction so he could premiere his film City Lights here in nineteen thirty-one. The theater opened with such speed that the construction crews worked around the clock for months to finish the interior.
