Handlebar Coffee Roasters occupies a space that feels more like a professional cycling pit stop than a standard café. The founders, Aaron Olsen and Kim Kyte, both competed in professional cycling tours across Europe before settling in Santa Barbara. They brought their espresso obsession with them, sourcing beans from small producers and roasting them in small batches on-site. The rhythmic clink of porcelain against counters and the steady grind of beans often drown out the downtown traffic outside the storefront.
