Heurich House Museum

The Heurich House Museum features a distinct dark brown facade made of Roman brick and brownstone, topped with a steep, intricate roofline that stands out against its neighbors. Christian Heurich, a German immigrant who built a massive brewing empire, constructed this mansion in eighteen ninety-two. Heurich insisted on fireproof construction, employing steel beams and concrete floors throughout the residence. When he died at age one hundred and two, his family preserved the interior exactly as it was when he lived there.
