The Woodrow Wilson House wears a facade of red brick and limestone, styled in the Georgian Revival fashion that dominates this quiet pocket of Kalorama. When the former president retired here in nineteen twenty-one, he brought his carriage, his books, and his favorite armchair from the White House. He spent his final three years behind these walls, paralyzed from a stroke, listening to the traffic on the street and receiving occasional visitors like the Prince of Wales, who famously signed the guest book here.
