Chinatown Cultural Plaza

The Chinatown Cultural Plaza features a prominent, circular pagoda-style roof that sits above an open-air courtyard. Built in nineteen seventy-three, this complex was designed to anchor the Chinese community in Honolulu, offering a central space for businesses, cultural organizations, and community gatherings. During the grand opening, organizers displayed a traditional dragon dance to bless the site. Today, the plaza serves as a hub for local herb shops, restaurants, and offices that keep older traditions active in the heart of downtown.
