Lum Sai Ho Tong

The building features a decorative green tile roof and ornate woodwork that distinguishes it from the surrounding concrete structures in Chinatown. This hall served as a meeting place and social hub for the Lum clan, members of a family association that traces its lineage back to the thirteenth century. In nineteen twenty-three, the association hired architect Yuen Kew Lum to design this gathering space. He incorporated traditional Chinese architectural elements to provide a familiar home for immigrants settling in Honolulu during that era.
