Built in eighteen ninety-nine, the building served as a storage house for the bustling shoe and leather trade that defined this neighborhood. A century later, the interior was gutted and rebuilt for tech offices, but the exterior remains unchanged. Most pedestrians walk past without noticing the original iron hoist beam still jutting out over the sidewalk from the top floor.
