The entrance to Hains and Company is marked by a heavy, repurposed shipping door tucked away in a narrow laneway. The bar occupies a former carriage house built in the mid-nineteenth century, once used by the Hains family to store goods arriving at the nearby port. Marcus Motteram turned the space into a maritime-themed gin and whisky bar, retaining the original brickwork and exposed beams. Sailors once offloaded cargo here, and now the room holds hundreds of bottles of spirits instead.
