Constitution Dock

Constitution Dock is defined by the dense forest of masts belonging to yachts tied tightly against its sandstone quay. This is the finish line for the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race, where boats have arrived every summer since nineteen forty-five. During the race, the dock becomes a crowded stage for sailors exhausted from their journey across the Bass Strait. In nineteen ninety-eight, a massive storm forced five boats to abandon their mission and claimed six lives, turning this harbor into a place of desperate rescue.
