This building once served as the central police station and courthouse for Perth. Officers processed prisoners in the basement cells while magistrates presided over cases in the courtrooms upstairs. In nineteen eighty-four, the government moved the legal operations elsewhere, leaving the historic structure to be repurposed as a hub for dance companies, musicians, and visual artists to use for daily rehearsals.
