WA Museum Boola Bardip

The Western Australian Museum Boola Bardip consists of four distinct historical buildings stitched together by a cantilevered glass and steel structure. It sits on the site of the former Old Perth Gaol, where the nineteenth century stone cells still remain integrated into the center of the museum. In nineteen seventy-five, an anonymous donor funded the excavation of the site, revealing deep layers of colonial administration alongside evidence of Whadjuk Noongar occupation, leading to the museum's name, which means many stories in the local language.
