The Piccadilly Arcade features a distinctive art deco entrance that cuts directly through the Hay Street facade. Built in nineteen thirty-three, the arcade was named after the theater that once anchored the rear of the property. Architect William Leighton designed the space to draw shoppers from the main street into a narrow, enclosed passage filled with natural light from a glass roof. It remains one of the few surviving examples of the grand, purpose-built shopping arcades from Perth’s early twentieth century development period.
