Μaison Égyptienne

The Maison Égyptienne stands out with its facade painted in bright, vibrant shades of blue and gold, covered in rows of decorative hieroglyphs. Franz Joseph Hepp, a local judge and amateur Egyptologist, commissioned this structure in eighteen twenty-three. He designed it to mirror the style of a temple he studied, packing the exterior with symbols and motifs he brought back from his private research. Even after two centuries of weather, the curious, oversized carvings remain clearly visible against the gray Strasbourg stone.
