Villa Schutzenberger

The Villa Schutzenberger features a high-pitched roof and a facade covered in elaborate, floral Art Nouveau ironwork. Built in nineteen hundred for a wealthy beer brewer named Louis Schutzenberger, the house served as a private residence before its acquisition by the city. It represents the height of Strasbourg's German period architecture. Its original owner commissioned the design to display his status, incorporating a distinct conservatory and ornamental glass that reflected the tastes of his time. The building later housed the European Audiovisual Observatory.
