Église Saint-Aubin de Toulouse

The brick façade of the Église Saint-Aubin features a distinct, rounded neo-Romanesque profile that stands out among the shops of the Colombette neighborhood. Built in the late nineteenth century, the church replaced a much older medieval structure that had fallen into disrepair. Architect Auguste Virebent used local materials to maintain the traditional Toulouse aesthetic. During the construction, workers uncovered ancient Merovingian sarcophagi beneath the site, proving that this ground served as a burial place for the city long before the current walls rose.
