Le banc géant

The giant bench in Diderot stands six meters long and dwarfs the standard urban furniture nearby. Artists Lilian Bourgeat and Yannick Martin designed it to shift the scale of the public square, turning a mundane resting spot into an oversized curiosity. It rests on the pavement as a permanent installation, rendered in the exact shape and proportions of a common park seat. People often climb onto the massive slats to sit, dangling their legs far above the ground as they watch the street.
