Tour CB21

landmark

Tour CB21 represents a pivotal moment in the development of the La Defense business district. Completed in 1974, it was originally known as the Tour Gan and stood as the second tallest building in the Paris region. Its design features a distinct Greek cross floor plan, a choice made by the celebrated American architect Max Abramovitz. When it first emerged on the skyline, the tower was so prominent that it could be seen from the Place de la Concorde in central Paris, sparking a fierce public debate about the impact of skyscrapers on the capital's historic character.
