Square Gabriel Péri

park garden

Square Gabriel Péri features a prominent, circular fountain basin that anchors the center of the gravel paths. It sits directly against the municipal library building, occupying the space where the town’s older structures were cleared away in the mid twentieth century. When the renovation finished in nineteen eighty-four, the town dedicated the square to Gabriel Péri, a journalist and member of the French Resistance who died during the Second World War. A stone bust of Péri faces the library entrance today.
