Roseraie de Puteaux

The Roseraie de Puteaux fills the space behind iron gates with an almost overwhelming collection of rose bushes. In the early twentieth century, the town council decided to transform this patch of land into a specialized garden dedicated entirely to the flower. They hired the landscape architect Jacques Greber to lay out the paths and beds. A local grower, Lucien Galtier, donated thousands of plants from his own nursery to populate the design, and the park opened to the public in nineteen thirty-three.
