Square Violet

The Square Violet is a small public park tucked away behind iron gates, identifiable by the dense cluster of tall trees that rise above its limestone perimeter walls. It occupies the site of the former Vaugirard gasworks, which fueled streetlamps across this part of Paris for decades. When the gas plant closed, the city cleared the industrial ruins to create this green space. A marble fountain sits at the center, salvaged from a nineteenth century residence that once stood nearby.
