The Musée de la Contrefaçon occupies a private mansion from the nineteenth century, distinguishable by its classic stone facade tucked away on rue de la Faisanderie. This building houses thousands of seized counterfeit items ranging from fake luxury handbags to replica car parts. The Union des Fabricants established this museum to show how indistinguishable clever forgeries can be from original goods. One display features a legitimate perfume bottle beside a near-perfect knockoff, forcing visitors to hunt for the microscopic flaws in the glass lettering.
