Palais d’Iéna

The Palais d'Iéna features a curved concrete facade and a massive, soaring colonnade that frames its entrance. Designed by Auguste Perret and completed in nineteen thirty-seven, it served as the Museum of Public Works before becoming the home of the French Economic, Social and Environmental Council. When the building opened, visitors walked through a grand hall where engineers displayed models of bridges and dams. Today, the council meets in the circular hemicycle, a space originally built to showcase the nation's industrial ambition.
