Pierre Seghers Garden

The Pierre Seghers Garden sits behind a high, iron-grille fence, identifiable by the dense grove of trees that keeps the interior space quiet despite the surrounding city noise. It occupies the former site of a private mansion, or hôtel particulier, that belonged to the nineteenth century industrialist Monsieur Vavin. After the city acquired the land in the nineteen seventies, they cleared the old structures to create this public park, naming it for the French poet and resistance fighter Pierre Seghers.
