Parc Promenade Pereire

park garden

The Parc Promenade Pereire occupies a long, narrow strip of land that once carried the Petite Ceinture railway line. Iron tracks formerly connected the city’s major stations here, but trains stopped running through this corridor in nineteen thirty-four. In the nineteen eighties, the city converted the abandoned rail bed into this continuous park. Today, trellises covered in climbing roses and wisteria stretch over the former path, masking the remains of the old stone walls that once confined the steam engines.
