Square du Cardinal Verdier

The Square du Cardinal Verdier stands on land that once served a strictly military purpose. This green space was created in nineteen thirty-one directly on the site of the former bastion number seventy-three, which was part of the nineteenth-century Thiers wall defensive fortifications that once circled Paris. You can still see the remnants of the old walls and the military history of the site in the layout of the area.
