The rusted steel shutters of Celsius Roasters set the shop apart from the limestone facades lining the rest of the street. Inside, the shop occupies a narrow storefront that once served as a neighborhood wood workshop. When the current owners took over, they pulled up the floorboards to find layers of sawdust packed down over decades. Today, the space centers on a small, cast-iron roaster that sits directly behind the counter, filling the room with the smell of beans from Ethiopia and Brazil.
