Fresque "Route de la Soie

The facade of the building on the Rue Pierre Blanc features a sprawling, colorful mural depicting the ancient Silk Road. It spans the entire height of the structure, showing camel caravans traversing mountainous terrain and bustling markets under vibrant skies. Artists from Cité de la Création painted this in the late twentieth century to honor Lyon's historic role as a center for silk manufacturing. One local artist reportedly spent weeks sketching camel anatomy from old books to get the lead caravan looking just right.
