Chocolaterie St. Anna No.1

Chocolaterie St. Anna Number One sits behind a dark timber frame, identifiable by the hand-painted gold lettering on the glass and the smell of toasted cocoa beans drifting onto the cobblestones. The building dates to the late seventeenth century, surviving the city's destruction during the War of the Grand Alliance. While the upper floors remain residential, the ground level serves as a workshop where the chocolatier temperers copper bowls by hand, keeping a century-old recipe for almond-dusted truffles alive in the same room.
