The Louisengarten is a small, triangular patch of green defined by the intersection of Louisenstraße and Rothenburger Straße. Before the nineteen forties, the land held dense residential buildings, but Allied bombing raids leveled the site. Instead of rebuilding houses after the war, the city left the space open. The residents of the Neustadt eventually cleared the rubble themselves, turning the empty crater into a neighborhood park. It remains a quiet corner where people sit among the trees to watch the street traffic.
