The Stoa Arsakeiou features a long, covered walkway with tall columns that run along the side of the nineteenth century Arsakio School building. This passage links two major streets in the heart of Athens. Originally built to house shops and offices, the arcade became a gathering place for the city’s elite to discuss politics and business. During the nineteen thirties, the government converted the space into the first permanent seat of the Council of State, the highest administrative court in Greece.
