The stone house at Ramban Street fifty-one features a prominent, rounded corner tower that breaks the otherwise straight lines of its limestone facade. Built in the late nineteen twenties, it served as the home of Doctor Abraham Ticho and his wife, the artist Anna Ticho. Anna turned the first floor into her studio, where she spent decades sketching the surrounding Judean hills. She famously threw out many of her own early charcoal works, claiming they lacked the discipline she demanded of herself.
