Via Supportico Marinella is a narrow, stone-vaulted tunnel that pierces directly through the foundations of the ancient houses in Atrani. It functions as a public passageway, effectively acting as an urban artery that links the upper village to the coastal road. In the mid-twentieth century, a major flood sent a deluge of mud and debris through this exact tunnel, choking the passage entirely. Residents cleared the heavy stone vaults by hand to regain access to the town center.
