Rahba Kedima

Rahba Kedima is defined by the stacks of vibrant, conical piles of ground spices that line the merchant stalls. This square serves as the traditional spice market of the Medina, where trade has centered for centuries. Merchants here once focused exclusively on the grain trade before shifting their focus to the fragrant herbs, dyes, and medicinal roots that define the space today. A large, wooden basket filled with blocks of pungent, deep-red soap and dried chameleon skins marks the heart of the stall layouts.
