Slat Al Azama Synagogue

The Slat Al Azama Synagogue sits behind a modest, nondescript door in the Mellah, marked by a bright blue archway and tiled wall panels that contrast with the surrounding ochre streets. Built in fourteen ninety-two, it was established by Jewish refugees fleeing the Spanish Inquisition. For centuries, this building functioned as the spiritual heart of the local community. A small courtyard garden fills the center, where worshippers once gathered away from the chaos of the city outside to maintain their traditions.
