Souk des Tapis

The Souk des Tapis occupies a long, narrow alley draped in woolen rugs hung from every available rafter. Sunlight filters through the reed screens overhead, casting sharp, shifting patterns across the knotted patterns of carpets from the High Atlas Mountains. Merchants here once traded exclusively in prayer rugs, but the market transitioned into a centerpiece for Berber weaving traditions.
