Hammam Ben Aazzouz

The Hammam Ben Aazzouz features a heavy, arched wooden door set into the limestone walls of the medina, usually draped with damp, hanging laundry. It serves the neighborhood as a traditional public steam bath, heated by a furnace fueled with cedar wood scraps and olive pits. Local residents still gather here daily to scrub away the dust of the mountain trails, following a bathing ritual that has occupied this exact basement space for over five hundred years.
