Poste Maroc - Al Barid Bank

The Poste Maroc building in Chefchaouen features a distinctively deep, horseshoe-arched entrance that breaks the flat plaster of the street wall. Built during the Spanish protectorate era, this structure served as the vital communication link for the mountain town, housing both the telegraph office and the post. Postal workers once relied on mules to carry letters through the rugged Rif Mountains. Today, the bank occupies the space, but the heavy wooden doors still open into that original, high-ceilinged administrative hall.
