Alchemia is identified by the rows of mismatched, antique wooden furniture and the heavy, flickering candlelight that obscures the corners of its rooms. This bar occupies the ground floor of a centuries-old building in the Jewish Quarter. In the early two thousands, the owners salvaged old doors and window frames from demolition sites across the city to build the interior partitions. The effect makes the space feel like a collection of living rooms from a version of Krakow that disappeared long ago.
