Galicia Jewish Museum

The Galicia Jewish Museum occupies a converted furniture mill in the Kazimierz district. Its long, low brick building contains an exhibit documenting the ruins of Jewish life in Polish Galicia. British photographer Chris Schwarz spent years trekking through the region, capturing images of synagogues turned into warehouses and overgrown cemeteries. He founded this space to force a conversation about the traces left behind after the Holocaust. The light filters through the industrial windows, illuminating photographs that bring those forgotten landscapes into sharp focus.
