Muzeum Uniwersytetu Jagiellońskiego Collegium Maius

The Collegium Maius features a jagged, fifteen-century Gothic courtyard where the brick walls darken into deep charcoal. This is the oldest building of the Jagiellonian University, and for centuries, professors lived in the rooms above these vaulted arcades. In fourteen ninety-seven, Nicolaus Copernicus enrolled here as a student. He walked across these specific stone slabs, likely carrying his books to a lecture in a room just off the gallery, long before he argued that the earth moves around the sun.
