HEVRE | Bar & Restaurant

The building features a fading, hand-painted Hebrew sign on its facade, a remnant of its original life as the Chewra Thilim prayer house. Established in the late nineteenth century, this synagogue served the local Jewish community until the Second World War. Today, the space functions as a bar and restaurant, but the peeling plaster and original tile floors remain. Tables now sit where congregants once prayed, and the kitchen occupies the former sanctuary, preserving the high ceilings and quiet, layered history of the site.
