The Fonte da Abundancia features a stone facade tucked into the landscape, centered on a carved mask that pours water into a granite basin. Built in seventeen eighty-seven, this fountain served as a vital public water source for local residents and travelers long before indoor plumbing reached these slopes. During the construction of the nearby Quinta da Regaleira, workers frequently used this trough to cool their horses, leaving the stone worn smooth from decades of constant use by laborers and thirsty animals.
