The Parque das Merendas features stone tables and benches carved directly into the hillside, nestled beneath the heavy canopy of ancient chestnut trees. For decades, it served as the designated stop for travelers climbing the winding road toward the Moorish Castle. While the surrounding forest feels wild and untamed, these granite surfaces remain polished from thousands of lunches eaten here by hikers. It exists as a quiet anchor point, providing a place to rest before the final, steep ascent to the mountain peaks.
