Al-Hanafi Mosque

religious

The Al-Hanafi Mosque stands out in the Al Balad district because of its white minaret that tapers toward the sky, contrasting against the surrounding limestone buildings. Built in nineteen twenty-five by the merchant Mohammed Al-Hanafi, this mosque served the local trading community that lived and worked in the heart of Jeddah. It became a social hub for the neighborhood, where merchants would gather after prayers to discuss deals. Today, it remains a centerpiece of the historic district, reflecting the traditional architecture of the Hejaz region.
