Bab Al Madinah Lane

other

Bab Al Madinah Lane serves as a narrow passage between the tall, coral-stone houses of Al Balad. It takes its name from the ancient gate that once stood at the city’s northern wall, marking the start of the long journey toward Medina. Pilgrims heading north gathered their supplies in these cramped, shaded alleys before setting out across the desert. Merchants often sold incense and textiles here to travelers, and the lane still holds the heavy, salt-crusted scent of the nearby Red Sea.
